CONSERVATION SCORECARDS

The Nevada Conservation League has been the source for effective conservation advocacy in Carson City since our founding in 2001. Biannually, we have produced the Conservation Scorecard, which evaluates our state legislators based upon their votes on key conservation issues during the legislative session.

We invite you to review our 2009 Nevada Legislative Scorecard!

Background:

For the first time, during the 2009 Legislative Session, 17 of Nevada’s leading conservation groups created a coalition to propose a focused set of priorities for the legislature. Named the Conservation Priorities for Nevada, the four pieces of legislation that the coalition promoted dealt with a wide range of conservation issues. All four measures succeeded and were able to overcome substantial roadblocks on the path to becoming law, including a gubernatorial veto. Conservation groups are already hard at work developing our priorities for the next Legislative Session.
